Saturday night, the Irish wear green. Notre Dame players will don green jerseys and pants. The fans will come glad in green attire too. And when they arrive at Notre Dame Stadium, a light-up green LED wristband provided by CrowdSync Technology will be waiting for them at every seat.
The wristbands, sponsored by the Rockne Athletics Fund, are programmed according to seat number and will light up in different patterns throughout the game. The Rockne Athletics Fund is a group of Notre Dame fans, family and alumni who join in the shared vision of providing the best academic and athletic opportunities for Notre Dame student-athletes.
Such wristbands have become popular at concerts and other sporting venues such as NHL arenas. The following wristband instructions were released by the university:
- ONLY TAKE ONE There will be one LED Wristband per seat for everyone in the stadium to enjoy. Please be considerate of your neighbors, and only take one.
- BE READY When instructed by the public announcer, be sure you’re in your seat and proudly displaying your LED Wristband! Special light shows will occur when the team runs out and throughout the game.
- DON’T TRADE Your unique wristband has been programmed to light up in your section/row when the time comes. Don’t swap your wristband with friends or family seated in other locations throughout the stadium. This will help you enjoy the full effect.
The wristbands have a QR code printed on them. By scanning, you will receive a 20 percent off code to use at shop.fightingirish.com. In addition, 10 fans will win a variety of exclusive Notre Dame memorabilia items including autographs and game-used equipment.

Saturday’s game pits two top 10 teams against each other in No. 6 Ohio State (3-0) and No. 9 Notre Dame (4-0). The Buckeyes, making their first appearance at Notre Dame Stadium since 1996 and just their third all-time, are favored by three points according to most sports books.
The sold-out game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. ESPN’s College GameDay will be live from Notre Dame’s campus from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET the day of the game. It’ll be Lee Corso and the GameDay gang’s first appearance at Notre Dame since 2020 when No. 1 Clemson trekked to South Bend during the COVID season. The Irish beat the Tigers under the lights that November night, 47-40 in double overtime.
That was the biggest win of the Brian Kelly era in his 11th season. Marcus Freeman can get his in front of a lit Notre Dame Stadium crowd in year two of his tenure Saturday.
