Newsstand: How to watch Notre Dame OT Joe Alt get selected in the NFL Draft
For the first time since 2018, Notre Dame is projected to have an offensive lineman picked in the first round of the NFL Draft. Six years ago, it was Quenton Nelson No. 6 overall to the Indianapolis Colts and Mike McGlinchey No. 9 overall to the San Francisco 49ers.
Tonight, it’ll be Joe Alt. And he should go in the top 10 as well.
Fighting Irish fans should tune into the draft early on for that reason; Alt’s name is going to get called sooner than later. The first round begins live from Campus Maritus Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET. It’ll be broadcasted by ESPN, ABC and NFL Network.
Here’s who has the top 10 picks and could be potential landing spots for Alt. His sweet spot starts at No. 5 with the Los Angeles Chargers, who ESPN’s Jordan Reid predicted him to go to in his final 257-pick mock draft earlier this week, and right on down. An offensive tackle of Alt’s stature is always a hot commodity toward the top of the draft.
