Newsstand: Kyle Hamilton opens up on rookie workouts with Baltimore Ravens
It took some time for former Notre Dame All-American safety Kyle Hamilton to adjust to professional football workouts. But it wasn’t necessarily because his college workouts were any less intense.
Hamilton was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He made it happen over the course of two and a half seasons at Notre Dame. He was injured for the final half of his junior year, and that’s why rookie camp was so strenuous for the elite talent.
“I was in the middle of my first practice, and I realized I hadn’t practiced since October,” Hamilton said on the Inside the Garage podcast. “I hadn’t practiced in so long.”

But once he got his legs under him, he was good. And he has the Irish to thank for that.
“I think college helped a lot and Notre Dame’s conditioning helped a lot,” he said. “I could tell. Baltimore is on the tougher side of workouts. We workout really hard. It’s what makes Baltimore, Baltimore. A blue-collar team. The workouts aren’t easy. But I feel like it’s not too much of an adjustment coming from a college like Notre Dame.”
