Notre Dame football has announced the date for one of its annual charity initiatives. The program’s Lift For Life event is Friday, several players announced on their social media pages.

Football programs around the country have held Lift for Life days in recent years as part of a partnership with Uplifting Athletes, a nonprofit founded in 2003 that seeks to “inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.” Lift for Life turns a team weightlifting session into a fundraiser. This year, fans can make a pledge for the total number of max leg press reps across the entire team on Friday. The team’s stated goal is 450 reps.

Quote of the Day

“He has good length, while some others who were originally ahead of him don’t. He’s also younger for the class. He’s one of the younger top corners. I think that is maybe a potential reason why we’ve seen so much improvement from him over the course of the last six months to a year. I think Gray is still developing physically.”

On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power on Notre Dame cornerback Christian Gray’s 71-spot jump in the updated rankings.
