Notre Dame’s game vs. Central Michigan streaming exclusively on NBC Universal’s online platform, Peacock, on Sept. 16 will cost Fighting Irish fans just a wee bit extra from their wallets. Peacock alerted current subscribers of its first ever price hike in an email early Tuesday morning.

Previously, it cost Premium subscribers $4.99 per month or $49.99 annually. The new prices, which will take effect Aug. 17, are $5.99 and $59.99, respectively. The prices for Peacock Premium Plus are going from $9.99 to $11.99 monthly and $99.99 to $119.99 annually. Subscribers only need Peacock Premium to watch the Irish’s game on Sept. 16; they do not need Peacock Premium Plus.

Per a report from Variety, the increase is coming so Peacock can “invest in content and the user experience while remaining competitive in the marketplace.” Price hikes have been common from other streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+ and Max.

A Fighting Irish football game will stream exclusively on Peacock for the third consecutive year in 2023. In 2021, Notre Dame vs. Toledo was only on Peacock. Last fall, it was the Irish’s blowout victory over UNLV that could only be watched live on Peacock.

Former NBC Sports Group chairman Pete Bevacqua is taking over as the Notre Dame athletics director for Jack Swarbrick in the first quarter of 2024.

The price of Peacock isn’t the only thing going up; so is the total number of invitees to the Irish’s big recruiting weekend at the end of the month. Dixon is a 2025 defensive lineman from Miami.

Swarbrick and Bevacqua were on hand for an Irish’s men’s basketball practice Tuesday.
