Des Moines (Iowa) Southeast Polk class of 2023 offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor released his top seven schools list via On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Wednesday night, and it included Notre Dame.

Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Oregon and Penn State also made the cut for the five-star prospect who stands at 6-6, 318 pounds.

Proctor gave a quick quote to Fawcett about why Notre Dame made his favorite programs list.

“Notre Dame has been recruiting me for a long time,” Proctor said. “I have been there multiple times and love it every time I’m there.”

Proctor visited Notre Dame last summer for the first time with his coach, and for visit No. 2, which occurred for the USC game last October, he brought his family with him so that they could also see the Fighting Irish’s campus.

“I felt really good about it – talking to all of the coaches, it was a normal day hanging out with the guys over there,” Proctor told BlueandGold.com after his second visit. “I liked hanging out with the recruits, walking around campus and getting a good vibe.

“It’s a school that I see myself being at. They will be in it when I make my final decision.”

What Proctor said about his other finalists

Georgia is a championship team as we know and a team that can develop players. Every time I talk with the coaches the bond is great.”

Alabama is Alabama. I think everyone can tell why they are in everyone’s top as to the development the players get and the history behind it all.”

Oregon came to my high school and was my 5th offer. The coaches and I have a very great bond and I am really loving how they recruit.”

Michigan most ultimately because of Coach Moore and what he has done with the O line unit throughout one year. His guys led the team to a top 4 appearance this year.”

Iowa has been recruiting since freshman year. They have stuck with it throughout my process and are trying to keep me in state.”

Penn State worked their way in, a really good vibe from their coaches and everyone there. I have great talks on the phone all the time with them.”

Proctor ranks as the nation’s No. 5 player and No. 1 offensive tackle per the 2023 On3 Consensus ranking. On3’s own rankings have him as the No. 34 prospect and No. 3 offensive tackle in America. Both rankings have him as the top player from the state of Iowa.
