Notre Dame releases depth chart for BYU Shamrock Series game

Notre Dame has released its depth chart for its Saturday game against No. 16 BYU (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC). Here’s a position-by-position rundown of the starters and backups listed. Changes from the prior week are noted as such.

Quarterback

Starter: Drew Pyne (Jr.)

No. 2: Steve Angeli (Fr.)

Running back

Starter(s): Chris Tyree (Jr.), or Audric Estime (So.), or Logan Diggs (So.)

The three running backs had an “or” next to their names the first four weeks.

Wide receiver

Starter: Jayden Thomas (So.)

No. 2: Matt Salerno (Gr.)

Junior tight end Kevin Bauman, the No. 2 for the first three games, is out for the season with a torn ACL. His injury allowed Raridon and Staes to appear on the depth chart for the first time this year.

Bertrand will miss the first half of the BYU game due to a targeting ejection in the second half vs. North Carolina. Kiser, not Bauer or Tuihalamaka, started in his place alongside Liufau.

No. 2: Bertrand

Left safety

Starter(s): Houston Griffith (Gr.) or DJ Brown (Gr.)

Brown left the game vs. North Carolina with a hamstring injury. He has started all four games, but played only 25 more snaps than Griffith (149 to 124).

Henderson missed the North Carolina game due to an ankle injury. Junior Xavier Watts played a season-high 28 snaps with he and Brown out.

Cornerback

Starter(s): Cam Hart (Sr.) or TaRiq Bracy (Gr.)

No. 2: Jaden Mickey (Fr.)

Hart and Bracy have both started all four games with Notre Dame mainly playing a nickel base defense.

Cornerback

Starter(s): Benjamin Morrison (Fr.)

No. 2: Clarence Lewis (Jr.)

Morrison started for the second straight game and played 51 snaps to Lewis’ 10. He is listed as the lone starter for the first time this year.
