Newsstand: 16 Notre Dame football players named to Senior Bowl watch list
Sixteen Notre Dame football players were named to the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl watch list. The Senior Bowl will be played in Mobile, Ala., on Feb. 1, 2025 and broadcasted at 2:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
Here is the full list of Fighting Irish representatives.
- Graduate student offensive lineman Tosh Baker
- Graduate student defensive end Jordan Botelho
- Graduate student defensive back Jordan Clark
- Graduate student wide receiver Beaux Collins
- Senior offensive lineman Pat Coogan
- Graduate student defensive tackle Howard Cross III
- Senior tight end Mitchell Evans
- Graduate student kicker Mitch Jeter
- Graduate student linebacker Jack Kiser
- Senior quarterback Riley Leonard
- Graduate student defensive tackle Rylie Mills
- Graduate student wide receiver Kris Mitchell
- Junior cornerback Benjamin Morrison
- Graduate student defensive end RJ Oben
- Senior wide receiver Jayden Thomas
- Graduate student safety Xavier Watts
One of those things is not like the others. Morrison is getting a nod because this is likely his last season of college football even though he is not a senior. He is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Morrison could certainly be joined as a draft selection by many of his teammates on this list. Among them, Cross, Evans, Kiser, Leonard, Mills, Oben and Watts have a great chance of getting to the next level via the draft this coming spring.

Here’s a unique watch list; sophomore wide receiver Jaden Greathouse is up for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award, which is given annually to the nation’s outstanding Division I player who played football at and graduated from a Texas high school and/or is currently playing at a Texas Division I four-year college. Campbell, a native of Tyler, Texas, was a Heisman Trophy winning running back for the Texas Longhorns in the 1970s.
We could be on the verge of something special from sophomore corner Christian Gray.
Fighting Irish quote of the day
“We take all those things into consideration: Who has experience, the ceiling of the individuals you have in that room. Really, where will they be Week 1 versus where will they be Week 8? That’s something that you even saw last year as we progressed throughout the season — you had a couple of new guys that ended up starting.”
