Andy Staples
College Football Playoff
No. 10 Notre Dame at No. 7 Penn State
Staples: “The Fighting Irish annihilated previously undefeated Navy by forcing turnovers and then almost immediately turning them into points. Quarterback Riley Leonard looks more comfortable and confident running the offense with each passing week, and the next team on the list is helping ND’s resume more every week.”

No. 11 Notre Dame at No. 6 Ohio State
Schlabach: “Under my scenario, it would be a TV ratings bonanza with Notre Dame going to Ohio State and Texas hosting rival Texas A&M.”

David Kenyon (Bleacher Report)
College Football Playoff
No. 9 Miami at No. 8 Notre Dame
Kenyon: “I suspect 7-1 Notre Dame not playing in a conference championship will be helpful. Several teams ranked ahead of the Irish—or even simply around them—either have a head-to-head matchup in November or would be destined to play in a league title game if both keep winning. ND should have a reasonable CFP resume, even at 10-2.”

Pop-Tarts Bowl vs. TCU
Notable: The Horned Frogs are 5-3 with losses to UCF, SMU and Houston. None of those teams were ranked at the time of kickoff. ND has been ranked all season. The Pop-Tarts Bowl was on the Irish’s radar last season when they went 9-3. It’s played On Dec. 28 in Orlando, Fla.
