Goolsby on Notre Dame quarterback target Dante Moore
“My first thought on him was that I didn’t like his release, but I watched more of him, and it’s quick as heck. The launch point is kind of low, but it’s so quick that it’s perfect for the RPO that Coach Rees likes to dabble with. He has great, competent size. He’s athletic enough but doesn’t look to run. Patrick Mahomes is such a lazy comparison, but he’ll step in the pocket, drift to his left and keep his eyes downfield. He has really loose hips, so he can snap that ball. He doesn’t need a perfect platform to throw off of. He has a whip of an arm. You can see why he’s a five-star kid. And off the field, he seems to have the leadership intangibles.”
Goolsby on Notre Dame running backs Chris Tyree and Logan Diggs
“I’m a big fan of Tyree with his elite speed. I’m a big fan of his, but I don’t think Tyree can be your bell cow, 20-plus carry per game guy. I don’t think he’d be asked to do that. Logan Diggs looks like Ezekiel Elliott; he has the prototypical body type and measurables of a running back. He looks the part. Based on body type, I’d say Diggs will get the majority of the carries, but based on touches — catches, rushes, return — it could be a breakout year for him. There’s such limited numbers at receiver, so I think they’ll cross train Tyree there.”
