Notre Dame in the NFL: Alohi Gilman shines on MNF
Former Notre Dame and current Los Angeles Chargers safety Alohi Gilman showed out for the Bolts on Monday Night Football, creating two turnovers in a 27-6 win over the Jets.
Gilman made 4 tackles, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and broke up a pass in a dominant performance for the Chargers’ defense. He nearly returned his fumble recovery for a touchdown, but he was ruled out of bounds inside the 5-yard line.
On his forced fumble, he punched the ball out of Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson’s arms.
Gilman dealt with a heel injury for a month, but he’s healthy now. He makes the Chargers a better defense with his versatility, coverage skills and tackling.
