Notre Dame in the NFL: Kyren Williams breaks 100 yards in Rams win
Scoring touchdowns? That’s not new for former Notre Dame running back Kyren Williams. He punched it in from 4 yards out during the Rams’ win over the Saints on Sunday, giving him his 10th rushing touchdown and 12th overall score of the season.
But what made Williams’ Week 14 game special as the Rams beat the Saints 21-14 was his efficiency.
Williams rushed 15 times for 104 yards, giving him an average of 6.9 yards per attempt. He also caught a pass for an additional 9 yards. Williams is up to 4.2 yards per carry on the season, and he’s played his best football in November and December.
The 2022 fifth-round pick out of Notre Dame received more exciting news on Thursday, too: He is the Rams’ nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, which is given to the player who makes the greatest impact in their community and on the field.
