The Athletic recently ranked the top 100 rivalries in college football history. Notre Dame is involved in six of them. Here’s what those half a dozen matchups are and where they rank in the all-time annals.

• ND leads series 61-26-2
• First meeting: Nov. 14, 1896
• Total meetings: 88

No. 56: Fighting Irish vs. Miami
• ND leads series 18-8-1
• First meeting: Oct. 7, 1955
• Total meetings: 27

No. 45: Fighting Irish vs. Michigan State
• ND leads series 49-29-1
• First meeting: Nov. 25, 1897
• Total meetings: 79

No. 40: Fighting Irish vs. Navy/Army
• ND leads series 83-13-1/40-8-4
• First meeting: Oct. 15, 1927/Nov. 1, 1913
• Total meetings: 149

No. 18: Fighting Irish vs. Michigan
• UM leads series 25-18-1

The Irish will play four of these rivalry games in 2025. They match up against Purdue, Miami, Navy and USC. Michigan State is on the schedule in 2026 and 2027. Michigan is on the schedule in 2033 and 2034. That makes up, at least a little, for the uncertainty of the future of the USC rivalry.
