Notre Dame men's basketball recruiting director leaves the program

Notre Dame men’s basketball recruiting director Brian Snow is leaving the program, a source confirmed to Blue & Gold on Wednesday. ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello was the first to report Snow’s departure.
Snow is the first member of head coach Micah Shrewsberry‘s staff to leave Notre Dame since the Irish hired Shrewsberry in March 2023. He also worked with Shrewsberry for two years at Penn State.
Before joining the Nittany Lions, Snow spent four seasons as a national recruiting analyst at 247Sports and CBSSports.com.
With Snow at the helm, Notre Dame signed the No. 36 recruiting class in 2024. A year later, though, the Irish signed the No. 12 class in 2025. Alongside four-star prospects Brady Koehler, Ryder Frost and Tommy Ahneman, Notre Dame won a battle with Indiana to land top-25 prospect Jalen Haralson.
In 2024, the Irish signed four-star guard Sir Mohammed, three-star guard Cole Certa and three-star forward Garrett Sundra.
Without Snow, Notre Dame will look to add at least two players (a guard and a forward/center) in the transfer portal. Stay tuned to BlueandGold.com for the latest developments as portal season gets underway.
More on Notre Dame men’s basketball: Tae Davis, J.R. Konieczny enter the transfer portal
Notre Dame forward Tae Davis came in third place for Atlantic Coast Conference Most Improved Player as a junior, setting himself up for a prolific senior year. He’ll spend that senior year elsewhere.
Davis reported his intention to enter the transfer portal Sunday with one season of eligibility remaining, according to On3’s Joe Tipton. He spent two years with the Irish after transferring from Seton Hall, averaging 15.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game throughout the 2024-25 season.

Davis improved his points per game from 9.2 to 15.1 from his first to his second season with the Irish. No one will mistake him for a high-volume or high-efficiency three-point shooter, but he also improved his three-point percentage from 18.4 to a respectable 30.2.
Additionally, after four years at Notre Dame, senior guard J.R. Konieczny has entered the transfer portal, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Konieczny, a 6-foot-7 South Bend native and South Bend Saint Joseph graduate, averaged 4.3 points in 32 games (four starts). He made 21.8 percent of his attempts from three-point range and added 2.8 rebounds per game.
After playing minimally as a freshman and redshirting his sophomore year (which is why he has the extra year of eligibility), Konieczny played 32 games and started 19 as a junior. He scored 7.7 points and grabbed 4.5 rebounds per game, but his playing time declined this past season, both in volume and consistency.
Finishing his career at a place that offered more minutes was always a likely outcome for Konieczny, particularly after he went through senior day festivities March 8. In his final season at Notre Dame, he averaged 16.3 minutes per game as opposed to 22.7 as a junior.
