MBB recruiting roundup: Notre Dame makes Top 50 PF Jackson McAndrew's top four
As On3 national recruiting expert Joe Tipton reported Monday, Notre Dame is in four-star 2024 prospect Jackson McAndrew’s top four. Wisconsin, Creighton and Xavier round out the finalists for the Minneapolis Wayzata power forward.
Tipton said that McAndrew, the No. 82 player and No. 13 power forward in the On3 Industry Ranking, plans to make his decision within the next two weeks. On3 rates McAndrew as the No. 47 player and No. 7 PF in the country.
He visited Notre Dame on June 17, and he told Blue & Gold shortly thereafter that he had a great time.

“I really like what [Notre Dame] coach [Micah] Shrewsberry and the rest of the coaching staff are doing with the program,” McAndrew told Tipton on Monday. “I think they are taking it in a really good direction. The school is also very good and cool. I think that I can be utilized very well with my versatility in the system they play offensively and defensively.”
McAndrew would be an important player for Notre Dame to add to its recruiting class of 2024. Shrewsberry values three-point shooting, and McAndrew would provide that in spades.
On3 national basketball recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw called shooting McAndrew’s “super power,” and the fact that he can shoot like that while standing 6-foot-9 makes him all the more appealing for Shrewsberry.
Certa shines on AAU circuit
Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy shooting guard Cole Certa, a hot-shooting three-star originally from Bloomington, Ill., finished up his AAU career with the Illinois Wolves this past weekend. Certa committed to Notre Dame on May 4.

Notre Dame fans might recognize a familiar face in the background (on the right side) of his team photo Sunday: Shrewsberry, watching Certa play with the Wolves.
Certa hit 11 3-pointers in two games Friday, averaging 28 points per game throughout the day, including this one, filmed by Relentless Hoops’ Trent Markwith.
Elite shooting guard Swartz has Notre Dame in top eight
Four-star prospect Austin Swartz, the No. 37 player in the class of 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, included Notre Dame in his top eight. The other seven are Virginia Tech, UConn, Miami, Indiana, Georgia, Florida State and Clemson.
“I’m going to be looking closely at the chemistry of the program,” Swartz told Tipton. “How the players interact with each other, and how the players talk and communicate with the coach.”
However, the Concord (N.C.) Cannon School shooting guard has scheduled six official visits and Notre Dame is not one of them. Indiana, Miami, Georgia, Florida State, UConn and Virginia Tech will host Swartz between Aug. 18 and Oct. 1, while Clemson has already had him in for a visit.
