Notre Dame has an “OR” at left tackle entering the national championship game against Ohio State. We’ll find out who will replace freshman Anthonie Knapp (left ankle) when the Irish take the field Monday in Atlanta, although we should have a good idea when reporters watch the first part of practice two days before.

Here’s how Notre Dame will line up against the Buckeyes.

Quarterback

  1. Riley Leonard (Sr.)
  2. Steve Angeli (Jr.)

Running back

  1. Jeremiyah Love (So.) OR
  2. Jadarian Price (Jr.)
  3. Aneyas Williams (Fr.)
  4. Devyn Ford (Gr.)

Notre Dame expects Love (knee) to be “full go,” according to Irish head coach Marcus Freeman.

Wide receiver (boundary)

  1. Beaux Collins (Sr.) OR
  2. Jayden Thomas (Sr.)

Collins (left calf) is questionable for the national championship game. Notre Dame believes he’ll play if he progresses throughout the week, per Freeman, but the Irish need to watch him progress first.

Wide receiver (field)

  1. Jordan Faison (So.) OR
  2. Kris Mitchell (Gr.)

Wide receiver (slot)

  1. Jaden Greathouse (So.) OR
  2. Jayden Harrison (Gr.)

Tight end

  1. Mitchell Evans (Sr.)
  2. Eli Raridon (Jr.)

Left tackle

  1. Tosh Baker (Gr.) OR
  2. Charles Jagusah (So.)

Here’s the major “OR.” Jagusah was Notre Dame’s projected starting left tackle before tearing his right pectoral muscle on Aug. 6. Baker has been Knapp’s primary backup with Jagusah on the mend.

Blue & Gold‘s Mike Singer does expect Jagusah to start, but officially, it hasn’t been decided yet.
