Here are the snap counts and participation charts for Notre Dame vs. Central Michigan, as well as this season so far for the Irish. All data is via Pro Football Focus.

For some clarification: A pass snap, as PFF defines it, is running a route or dropping back to pass. A run snap equates to carrying the ball. Anyone who does not do those three things is either run blocking or pass blocking, depending on the play.

Notes

• Rotations are tightening as Notre Dame enters the difficult part of its schedule. Notably, graduate running back Devyn Ford (who, by my count, played 3 of his 5 snaps in garbage time) and junior receiver Deion Colzie played significantly fewer snaps than their counterparts.

• It looks like freshman tight end Cooper Flanagan will not redshirt, having played in four games already. As one of three healthy scholarship tight ends on the roster, he got 22 snaps, 19 of which were run plays.

• Freshman slot receiver Jaden Greathouse logging 27 snaps and senior Chris Tyree logging 14 raised my eyebrows, as did freshman wide receiver Rico Flores Jr. splitting almost evenly with sophomore Tobias Merriweather (and starting over junior Jayden Thomas, who led all receivers in snaps by a wide margin).

• The Estimé/not Estimé split today (pre-garbage time) was 34-27, with some two-RB sets mixed in. I also thought freshman Jeremiyah Love playing 7 pass/pass blocking snaps to sophomore Gi’Bran Payne‘s 4 was interesting.
