Notre Dame vs. Louisville snap counts, participation chart: Offense
Here are the snap counts and participation chart for Notre Dame vs. Louisville, as well as this season so far for the Irish. All data is via Pro Football Focus.
For some clarification: A pass snap, as PFF defines it, is running a route or dropping back to pass (this includes sacks and scrambles). A run snap equates to carrying the ball. Anyone who does not do those three things is either run blocking or pass blocking, depending on the play.

Notes
• Greathouse could not have been fully healthy. If he was, giving him only 17 snaps is certainly a decision.
• Notre Dame has to ride the hot hand on offense more than it has. Faison made two huge plays when given an opportunity. He should have been given the opportunity to play more later in the game.
• Ditto Love, who was Notre Dame’s best running back last night.
• Tyree being on the field for 31 pass snaps and 5 run snaps can’t happen. That’s way too predictable. This showed up a little bit earlier in the season, but it was easily brushed off because the offense was successful. It is no longer successful.

Michigan star out vs. Indiana
• I know he’s the second tight end and the Irish run out of two-tight end sets, but using Staes — someone Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman has openly acknowledged is a very good receiving threat but a work in progress as a run blocker — to run 7 routes and block 15 times has to change. The Irish need to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of their offense and play Staes more on passing downs, alongside Evans.
• This was addressed in Five Thoughts, but it’s worth repeating that the rotation at guard and center made no sense.
• Junior tight end Davis Sherwood did not play. PFF lists him as having played 6 games, so I believe they corrected their chart last week and gave him the snaps he played at Duke.
• He’s not listed, but senior offensive tackle Tosh Baker played some right tackle in garbage time. PFF acknowledges that they’re not perfect the day after games. BlueandGold.com photographer Chad Weaver got a shot of Baker in the game.
