Notre Dame flushed a 60-50 road loss to North Carolina on Jan. 8 in emphatic fashion. In the two games since then, the Fighting Irish beat Wake Forest 86-47 at Purcell Pavilion on Jan. 12 and Syracuse 72-56 at the JMA Dome in New York on Jan. 15.

Those wins were good enough to leave head coach Niele Ivey‘s team at No. 7 in the most recent Associated Press Top 25. The Irish are 14-2 overall and 5-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. They’re the highest-ranked ACC team and already own a victory over the second-best team in that regard, No. 12 Virginia Tech (14-3, 4-3).

The next ranked team on Notre Dame’s schedule is No. 20 NC State (13-5, 3-4) on Jan. 29. The Irish are on the road at 3 p.m. ET that Sunday.

No. 13 Duke (16-1, 6-0) is the only undefeated team left in the ACC standings. The Irish host the Blue Devils at 1 p.m. ET on Feb. 5. Duke beat Notre Dame, 72-70, in Raleigh on Jan. 2, 2022.

Notre Dame is one of five teams with two or fewer ACC losses. Nearing the midpoint point of the conference season, a handful of teams are still in good standing to make a run at the conference crown. The highly-ranked Irish are certainly one of them.
