Prohaska spent three seasons in South Bend, starting 16 of the 74 games she appeared in. Her career was heavily impacted by injuries. She sat out there entire 2019-20 season because of bilateral pulmonary embolism, a condition in which blood clots form in the lungs. Last season, she missed time with a concussion and a fractured orbital bone.
Prohaska still returned to play over 40 minutes over the course of Notre Dame’s three NCAA Tournament games. Prohaska provided a type of toughness off the bench the Fighting Irish are going to be hard-pressed to replace. She only averaged 2.7 points in her Notre Dame career, but her presence and tenacity on both ends of the floor was worth much more.

Notre Dame lost three players to the transfer portal this season. Prohaska was joined by forward Sam Brunelle and guard Anaya Peoples. Brunelle went to Virginia. Peoples will play for DePaul. Head coach Niele Ivey and the Irish coaching staff have already replenished the roster with three incoming transfers, all of which came to fruition within the last week.

The news of Stanford guard Jenna Brown and Oregon State forward Kylee Watson‘s summer arrivals arose Tuesday. Friday, Texas transfer Lauren Ebo, a 6-4 center, announced her decision to play for the Irish. Notre Dame also lost Maya Dodson to the WNBA Draft, but the Irish await the addition of class of 2022 signee KK Bransford this summer too.
Four departures, four advents. And Notre Dame might not be done.
There is certainly room on the roster for more transfer portal plucking. As it stands, Notre Dame has nine scholarship players on the 2022-23 roster. Here’s a full look at what Ivey is set to work with.
