On Thursday, one of Notre Dame’s top remaining targets in the 2024 recruiting cycle announced his commitment date. Three-star safety Davis Andrews from American Fork (Utah) High will reveal his college decision on Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. EDT.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder will choose between the Irish, BYU, UCLA and Utah. Andrews officially visited each of those schools.

Andrews — the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 705 overall player, No. 71 safety and No. 5 prospect in Utah — is coming off a Notre Dame unofficial visit for the Ohio State game Sept. 23. That was his third trip to South Bend. He previously visited officially on June 6 and for the Blue-Gold Game on April 22.

Andrews plans to make a The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) mission beginning in January 2024. That would delay his collegiate enrollment until January 2026.

Notre Dame Quote of the Day

“We’ve had two really, really good practices. Spirited practices. Attention to detail and those things that we look for that tell you if we are lacking focus, it will show up at practice. I’m really pleased with the way these guys have focused on improving the way we practice and improving our overall team.”

— Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman on the team’s psyche during this week’s practice.
