Before Thursday’s Pot of Gold recruiting initiative, Notre Dame had not sent out a tight end scholarship offer in the 2024 class. Position coach Gerad Parker got things started at the position in the rising junior cycle though, as the Irish dished out five new offers at the position today.

St. Patrick’s Day is a built-in holiday for Notre Dame to utilize on the recruiting trail, and during the “Pot of Gold” day, the staff offered dozens of new prospects. Here’s a look at the new tight end offers.

PROMOTION: Sign up for just $1 for first year at Blue & Gold

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy TE Jonathan Echols

Height/weight: 6-6, 220
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 51 NATL, No. 4 EDGE, No. 17 player from Florida
Other notable offers: Georgia, LSU, Florida, Texas A&M, Ohio State

On3 lists Echols as an “EDGE” prospect, but the Irish offered him as a tight end. The Franklin, Ga. native transferred to powerhouse IMG Academy this offseason and will look to show off his skills potentially on both sides of the ball. Blue & Gold listed Echols in a story Tuesday that detailed five recruits Notre Dame can make an impact on if it offers this week. He’ll be one to watch for the Irish moving forward.

Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County TE Landen Thomas

Height/weight: 6-4, 210
On3 Consensus Ranking: No. 40 NATL, No. 1 TE, No. 6 player from Georgia
Other notable offers: Florida State, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ohio State

Notre Dame now has an offer out on the table for Thomas, the top tight end in the 2024 class. Notre Dame was looking at him under previous position coach John McNulty, and McNulty even visited Thomas’ high school in January but no offer was extended at that time. That obviously changed Thursday as Thomas got his “Pot of Gold.” Notre Dame joins a crowded bunch of powerhouse schools on Thomas’ list. Florida State is the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine leader at 59.4 percent.

Rochester (Mich.) Adams TE Brady Prieskorn

Height/weight: 6-5, 215
On3 Consensus Ranking: N/A
Other notable offers: Michigan State, Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee

Notre Dame dipped into the Detroit area with its offer to Prieskorn. The Spartans are the On3 RPM favorite at 53.4 percent as he’s visited campus there twice already. But this recruitment looks to be wide open, and Notre Dame should be able to make an impact with its offer. Prieskorn has seen his recruitment blow up since January, landing 12 new scholarship offers. In fact, 12 of his 13 total offers have come during that period.

Rome (Ga.) High TE Martavious Collins

Height/weight: 6-3, 215
On3 Consensus Ranking: N/A
Other notable offers: Tennessee, UCF, Cincinnati, Georgia, Georgia Tech

Collins is a prospect who holds a handful of Power Five offers but is still not quite on the national scene just yet. But armed with a new offer from Notre Dame, college coaches will be on alert of the Peach State native. He reports that he stands at 6-4, 240 pounds which is noticeably bigger than what’s listed on his On3 profile. Collins has been putting in work in the weight room.

Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic TE Jack Larsen

Height/weight: 6-3, 212
On3 Consensus Ranking: N/A
Other notable offers: South Carolina, NC State, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida State

Around the time Notre Dame landed its 2023 tight end pledge last September from Cooper Flanagan, former position coach John McNulty — who has since left for Boston College to become the Eagles’ offensive coordinator — started looking ahead at the 2024 cycle and at Larsen. So it’s been about nine months or so that Notre Dame has been looking at Larsen and hosted him twice for visits last year. Notre Dame will be a major contender for Larsen.
