The Notre Dame football program picked up a huge victory on the recruiting trail Sunday when it received a verbal commitment from 2024 four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. And social media users reacted appropriately.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Viliamu-Asa, is the No. 109 overall player, No. 8 linebacker and No. 13 prospect in California, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. In On3’s own rankings, he’s the No. 27 linebacker and No. 30 prospect in California.

Two other primary recruiting media services have him ranked as a top 100 overall player and top 10 recruit at his position. His On3 Industry Ranking rating is 93.07, about three points higher than his 90 rating at On3.

Viliamu-Asa’s On3 NIL Valuation annual value is $99,000. That ranks No. 243 among high school football recruits.

Viliamu-Asa is the 22nd commit in the 2024 Fighting Irish football recruiting class. Only wide receiver Cam Williams and quarterback CJ Carr have a higher On3 Industry Ranking than Viliamu-Asa. He accompanies three-star recruits Bodie Kahoun and Teddy Rezac as the other linebackers pledged to Notre Dame in this recruiting cycle.

Here’s how social media reacted after Viliamu-Asa revealed his verbal commitment.
