Notre Dame has its quarterback in 2026. On Saturday, Lake Mary (Fla.) High rising junior Noah Grubbs announced a surprise verbal commitment to the Fighting Irish.

The 6-foot-4½, 195-pound passer is ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 9 quarterback and No. 106 overall player in the 2026 recruiting cycle in the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Grubbs committed to Notre Dame over offers from 24 other programs, including Florida, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, UCF, Miami, Penn State, Ole Miss, Auburn and Ohio State — all schools he unofficially visited. He also saw Alabama, Florida State, LSU and Arizona State. However, those programs did not offer the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 21 recruit in Florida.

Oklahoma, Colorado, Nebraska and Syracuse are among the other programs that offered.

Irish quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli offered Grubbs after he participated in one of the program’s three evaluation high school football camps last June. Grubbs returned to campus for the Ohio State game on Sept. 23 and again on March 22.
