If you can’t beat ’em, join em. That’s definitely not what was going through former Notre Dame point guard Olivia Miles‘ head (or was it?) but it’s how things will play out in the final year of the All-American’s career.

Miles has committed to TCU, according to On3’s Talia Goodman.

Miles’ final game in a Notre Dame uniform — her 101st — came against the Horned Frogs in the Sweet 16. The Fighting Irish lost, 71-62, in the Birmingham 3 regional semifinal. On an ankle twisted just over one week prior in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Miles scored 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting and had 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal in 23 minutes.

In a season in which she was named a Second Team Associated Press All-American, Miles averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game. She played in and started all 34 of Notre Dame’s games after missing the entirety of her junior season rehabbing a knee injury she suffered in the final regular season game of her sophomore year.

Miles arrived at Notre Dame as an early enrollee in the winter of 2021. She played six games for the Irish in what were supposed to be the final few months of her time in high school. She would have been a McDonald’s All-American had she chosen to remain at Blair Academy in New Jersey; she was the No. 8 recruiting prospect in the class of 2021 according to ESPN.

Miles leaves Notre Dame with all sorts of accolades, including the most triple-doubles in program history with six. She notched one of those in her first game back from the knee injury. She had not played in a competitive game for about 18 months when she dropped 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against Mercyhurst on Nov. 4 of last year.

Without Miles, Notre Dame is looking for a back court mate for junior guard Hannah Hidalgo. The First Team Associated Press All-American is one of just three returning scholarship players from the 2024-25 roster. She’s joined by senior guards KK Bransford and Cassandre Prosper in that regard. Currently, the Irish only have five-star freshman forward Leah Macy coming in as a reinforcement. Macy is rehabbing a knee injury of her own that’ll likely leave her sidelined at the beginning of her Notre Dame career.

Head coach Niele Ivey and her coaching staff are looking to the transfer portal to bolster the 2025-26 Irish roster.
