The Notre Dame football program scored two major commitments on the recruiting trail this week. Blue & Gold reporters Kyle Kelly and Tyler Horka discussed those prospects’ decisions to commit to the Fighting Irish, Southwestern Michigan recruiting and three 2025 targets in Thursday’s recruiting update.

— Gregory Patrick (47:19-57:42). Notre Dame offered Portage (Mich.) Portage Northern’s Patrick on Pot of Gold Day and are a top contender for his commitment. He is the No. 123 overall player, No. 7 interior offensive lineman nationally and No. 2 prospect in Michigan in the 2026 class.

— Jalen Cooper (58:42-59:51). Cooper, a four-star wide receiver from Cibolo (Texas) Steele and SMU commit, officially visited Notre Dame for the Stanford game last Saturday. He is the No. 255 overall player, No. 33 wide receiver nationally and No. 36 prospect in Texas in 2025.
— Derek Meadows (58:52-1:01:38). The Las Vegas Bishop Gorman four-star wide receiver committed to LSU over Notre Dame in July. He ranks as the No. 80 overall player, No. 11 wide receiver nationally and No. 2 prospect in Nevada in 2025.
— Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng (1:01:39-1:04:25). The four-star linebacker from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy taps Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Southern Cal and Texas as his finalists. However, a new school has emerged as a contender for the No. 110 overall player, No. 9 linebacker nationally and No. 18 prospect in Florida in 2025.
