What to know about Notre Dame men’s basketball vs. Boston College
For the second time in less than two weeks, Notre Dame men’s basketball is set to take on Boston College. It’s the shortest time between games against the same opponent for the Irish this season, and head coach Micah Shrewsberry said that affects the team’s preparation.
“In the shorter turnarounds, it does matter a lot more than [Wednesday’s game against Miami], which is more than a month,” Shrewsberry said.
Whatever adjustments Shrewsberry and the Irish make, they hope it will be enough to even the season series against the Eagles. Boston College beat Notre Dame 63-59 on Jan. 15 in Chestnut Hill, Mass., outscoring the Irish 14-4 in the game’s final 5 minutes.
Since that night, neither team has won a game. Boston College and Notre Dame are tied with Georgia Tech for second-to-last in the ACC standings, with the Eagles’ losing streak sitting at two and the Irish’s at three.

Matchup notables
• Two Boston College players cooked Notre Dame in their last meeting. It was junior guard Jaeden Zackery early and senior forward Quinten Post late. Post, a 7-footer from Amsterdam, Netherlands, is a threat to score from inside and out. He hit two clutch three-pointers to help the Eagles win when the Irish came to town.

• Zackery went at freshman guard Markus Burton early, getting the smaller guard in foul trouble and going 8 of 10 from the field. He finished with 20 points and only one of his shots was a three.
• Burton, meanwhile, struggled in the second half due to Boston College’s physical style of play. He got bumped in ways that Shrewsberry was not thrilled about (he thought Burton should have gotten fouled more), but look for the Eagles to take an aggressive approach again in South Bend. Burton set his season high in turnovers in back-to-back games, with 7 against Boston College and 8 against Miami.
• Fellow Notre Dame freshman guard Braeden Shrewsberry scored 12 against the Eagles and has double-digit points in four of his past five games. He came off the bench in each of them.
