On3 Rankings Update: Nine Notre Dame commits crack the On300, Irish still have No. 2 player
For the first time since Sept. 18, On3 updated its 2025 class player rankings on Monday. Nine Notre Dame football recruits cracked the top 300, good for 14th among teams in the current recruiting cycle.
Offensive tackle Will Black (No. 2), safety JaDon Blair (No. 55), tight end James Flanigan (No. 107), cornerbacks Mark Zackery (No. 111) and Dallas Golden (No. 132), offensive lineman Cameron Herron (No. 205), EDGE Christopher Burgess Jr. (No. 173), EDGE Dominik Hulak (No. 278) and wide receiver Antavious Richardson (No. 286) all claimed spots in the On300.
Wallingford (Conn.) Choate Rosemary’s Black is Notre Dame’s lone five-star prospect. Indianapolis Warren Central’s Herron was the biggest riser, climbing 68 overall spots in Monday’s update. Herron, who flipped to the Notre Dame on Oct. 14, was committed to Iowa during the last rankings update.
On3’s rankings formula is meant to emulate the NFL Draft. A five-star prospect is considered a potential first-round draft pick. There are 32 NFL teams — and 32 first-round picks — so typically, only 32 five-star recruits in each cycle. The other 268 prospects are projected as eventual NFL Draft picks or priority undrafted free agents.
Here is how On3 director of scouting and rankings Charles Power, national scout Cody Bellaire and the rest of On3’s scouting department ranked Notre Dame’s current commits in the latest update.
