Where Notre Dame women's basketball ranks in Week 5 AP Top 25 after two losses
Notre Dame had a week it does not want to remember but probably won’t be able to forget. The Fighting Irish (5-2) went to the Caribbean for the Cayman Islands Classic and came home with two losses to Big 12 programs TCU (7-0) and Utah (6-2).
Notre Dame dropped from No. 3 to No. 10 in the Associated Press Poll as a result.
The Horned Frogs are undefeated and ascended from No. 17 to No. 9 after their 76-68 win over the Irish. Utah is one of several teams on the outside looking in but receiving votes. The Utes beat Notre Dame, 78-67.
It doesn’t get any easier for Notre Dame this week. The Irish are hosting No. 4 Texas (7-0) at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend at 7 p.m. ET Thursday. The Longhorns are coming off a Sunday night victory over No. 12 West Virginia in the Gulf Coast Showcase.
