Where Notre Dame’s 2023 class stands in On3 Consensus rankings after Monday update
The On3 Consensus ranking is a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
When On3 updated its own recruiting rankings for the 2023 class on Monday, it made some changes for Notre Dame’s commits in the Consensus ranking, but it was nothing over the top, considering On3’s own rankings only make up 25 percent of the industry average.
Overall, the Monday update was not a net positive for Notre Dame. Five of the seven Irish commits who were ranked in the On300 took tumbles, but only one of them had a noticeable fall in the On3 Consensus ranking.
Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep’s Keon Keeley has the same Consensus ranking of the No. 10 recruit and No. 1 EDGE in America that he had coming into Monday. The five-star prospect moved from No. 4 to No. 3 nationally per On3’s own rankings Monday.
Denton (Texas) Guyer’s Peyton Bowen rose nine spots in the Consensus up to No. 45 nationally. He’s also the No. 4 safety in the land.
Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean linebacker Drayk Bowen’s drop of 56 spots in On3’s rankings was a surprise after his sensational junior season, but his slide didn’t affect his Consensus ranking all that much. It moved him down nine notches to the No. 57 prospect nationally.
Mentor (Ohio) High defensive lineman Brenan Vernon’s Consensus ranking remains unchanged at No. 66 despite his drop of 53 spots from On3. He’s also the No. 10 defensive lineman and No. 2 player from Ohio according to the Consensus.
Las Vegas Bishop Gorman cornerback Justyn Rhett and Concord (Calif.) De La Salle tight end Cooper Flanagan tumbled from the mid-200s to out of the On300, but it did not affect their Consensus ranking very much. Rhett fell five spots to No. 120 and Flanagan’s drop was three spots to No. 215.

The biggest slide was with Irvington (N.J.) High safety Adon Shuler. He checked in as the No. 127 player and No. 8 safety per the Consensus, but after a sizable drop from On3, he’s now the No. 186 recruit and No. 13 safety.
Miami Christopher Columbus running back Sedrick Irvin Jr. and Lawrence (Mass.) Central Catholic linebacker Preston Zinter were not in the On300 coming into the week and saw their On3 Consensus ranking stay virtually the same. Irvin is the nation’s No. 342 player and No. 25 running back, while Zinter is the No. 471 prospect and No. 48 linebacker.
Don’t get too used to the exact numbers of this On3 Consensus, because 247 Sports is expected to update their rankings this week and their equal weight of 25 precent will impact the Consensus.

Dante Moore a new On3 Consensus five-star
Despite a move down of 31 spots in On3’s own rankings for Detroit Martin Luther King quarterback Dante Moore, the 6-2, 195-pounder became a five-star prospect in the Consensus.
The On3 Consensus expanded its list of five-star recruits by five to 20 in total, and Moore checks in as the No. 19 player nationally.
Other key five-star prospects for Notre Dame according to the On3 Consensus are Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy wide receiver Carnell Tate (No. 13), Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek safety Caleb Downs (No. 9) and Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep EDGE and Notre Dame commit Keon Keeley.
