COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes have added some much-needed talent to their front court via the Transfer Portal.

Ohio State has received a commitment from Santa Clara center transfer Christoph Tilly. He committed to the Buckeyes over Illinois and other high-major programs. Tilly is currently On3’s No. 30 overall prospect and No. 5 ranked center in the 2025 Transfer Portal cycle.

Tilly averaged 12.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game during the 2024-25 campaign. He started all 31 games for the Broncos while averaging 22.7 minutes per game.

The 7-foot, 240-pound Tilly has a smooth shooting stroke. He shot 31.5% from 3-point range last season and 30.8% as a sophomore. Additionally, Tilly has also continued to improve at the free throw line where he shot it at a 77.1% clip last season.

Tilly was born in Berlin, Germany, but moved to Chile when he was six years old. He played for Alba Berlin and LOK Bernau of the Germany – Pro B North League for two seasons before enrolling at Santa Clara. He also played for the German U18 Team in the 2021 Euro Challengers Tournament and in 2019, he was a member of the German U16 Team at the Euro Championship A.

Tilley joins Indiana guard transfer Gabe Cupps in Ohio State’s transfer portal class.
