COLUMBUS — The Buckeyes are focused on building their 2026 class but they are also recruiting some of the top prospects in the 2027 class. Ohio State is already pursuing some of the top prospects in the country and certainly within the state.

On3 released its initial On300 for the 2027 recruiting class which included both Ohio State commitments and even more targets.

Lettermen Row takes a few moments to look at the three members of the Ohio State 2027 class in the On300.

Jamier Brown

The highest-ranked Ohio State commit in the initial 2027 On300 is four-star Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne wide receiver Jamier Brown who slots in as the No. 32 overall prospect. On3 ranks Brown as the No. 7 wide receiver and No. 1 prospect in Ohio in the 2027 class. Brown rose up from No. 97 overall and No. 15 athlete in On3’s initial top-100 in the 2027 cycle.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Brown visited Ohio State on Friday, March 21 for the Buckeyes third spring practice. He also has visits scheduled to Miami on April 7, Oregon on April 11-13 and Tennessee on June 22. Brown also plans to visit Auburn, Alabama, Florida State, Tulane, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and a few others this spring while on a spring bus tour with his 7-on-7 team.

Brady Edmunds

Four-star Huntington Beach (Calif.) quarterback  Brady Edmunds is the No. 89 overall prospect in the initial 2027 On300. The future Ohio State signal-caller ranks as the No. 7 quarterback in 2027 class and No. 9 prospect in California, according to On3. Edmunds fell significantly from where he ranked On3’s initial top-100 in the 2027 cycle. On3 originally had Edmunds ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback in the 2027 class.

Edmunds will be back at Ohio State on Saturday, April 12 for the Buckeyes spring showcase. He will then stay in Columbus for one extra day to compete at the Elite 11 Regional in Ohio on Sunday, April 13. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Edmunds was in attendance for Ohio State’s 41-21 win over Oregon in the 2025 Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
