Buckeyes fall to Indiana in overtime

COLUMBUS – Jake Diebler and the Ohio State Buckeyes once again came up short in Big Ten conference play. The Buckeyes fell 77-76 to Indiana in overtime on Friday night.

The backcourt led the way for Buckeyes against the Hoosiers. Guard John Mobley Jr. led the team with 22 points to go along with three assists and three rebounds. Fellow guards Bruce Thornton and Micah Parrish finished with 18 and 19 points, respectively.

Ohio State was without its second leading scorer against the Hoosiers. Forward Devin Royal missed the game due to a wrist sprain. Forward Evan Mahaffey scored four points in his place while center Sean Stewart finished with five.

The Buckeyes biggest contribution off the bench came from backup guard Ques Glover who had four points. Forwards Aaron Bradshaw and Ivan Njegovan each finished with two points off the bench.

Indiana was led by guard Luke Goode who scored 23 points while shooting four of seven from three-point range. Center Oumar Ballo had a double-double with 21 points and five rebounds as well.

Ohio State will be back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The Buckeyes will head to West Lafayette to take on a top-25 Purdue team.
