Buckeyes bounce back, easily beat Evansville for early-season win

COLUMBUS — Ohio State returned home after a road loss to Texas A&M, which booted the Buckeyes out of the AP Poll after a quick one-week stay there. They came back home and delivered an easy win in nonconference action.
The Buckeyes downed Evansville 80-30 on Tuesday night, a massive blowout win that will certainly be a confidence boost for Jake Diebler’s team in the first month of his tenure.
Devin Royal led all scorers with a career high 20 points for Ohio State. Two other Buckeyes were in double figures: John Mobley Jr. (11) and Meechie Johnson (13).
Bruce Thornton had eight points and seven assists in the blowout win. The Buckeyes played 13 different players in the win; they have 16 players on the total team roster.
Ohio State will have just a couple of days off before its next game, a home date against Campbell. The rest of the month of November and into December has some intriguing matchups for the Buckeyes:

Ohio State already has a win over a ranked team for an early-season resume booster. That came in the opener against Texas. Then the Buckeyes lost to Texas A&M to fall back out of the rankings.
And the Buckeyes got back to winning after their first loss of the season with a solid win over Evansville.
