Cameron Brown puts off NFL Draft, returning for another season at Ohio State
COLUMBUS — A healthy Cameron Brown proved a point at Ohio State.
But since there’s more left for the senior cornerback to still accomplish, he’s going to come back and do it again.
Brown still didn’t get a fully-healthy season in the Buckeyes secondary after returning from an Achilles injury a year ago only to deal with setbacks with his knee and a midseason concussion. But when he was at his best, the speedy defender showed the high-end ability that can make him an appealing NFL Draft option.
Those teams are just going to have to wait one more year now that Brown has decided to stick around at Ohio State.
“I want to start off by thanking God for giving me this opportunity, because without him I couldn’t have done any of this,” Brown said in a statement to Lettermen Row. “Thank you to everyone on the Ohio State staff, and most importantly, the Buckeye Nation. I’ve been through a lot over the past four years, but I am not done yet.
“There are many more memories to make and games to win with my brothers. I will be returning to Ohio State next year.”

The toll of his previous injuries and the fact that Brown participated in Senior Day festivities pointed to an exit this offseason. But his decision to put that off for another season is a major boost to an Ohio State defense in the midst of a revamp, and the secondary will be able to build around Brown and rising sophomore Denzel Burke at cornerback.
The Buckeyes will have two proven commodities to anchor the pass defense, and the bonus with Brown likely means the program won’t need to pursue any outside help from the transfer portal.
Instead Ohio State can reload from within — and Cameron Brown will have another year to show what he can do at his best.
