COLUMBUS — Ohio State recruiting is about to pick back up. High school football is starting up around the country and soon prospects will be flocking to Columbus for game-day visits in the Horseshoe.

Every Tuesday, Lettermen Row starts a recruiting chat thread in the Lettermen Lounge message board to discuss everything happening in Ohio State recruiting. As Tuesday ends, we recap some of the bigger conversations started by our subscribers.

From Pdiddy7: I know Frye gets constantly knocked for his recruiting, but I think many forget that he’s also turned the OL into a better unit every year he’s been at OSU... Which would you consider more important to his job, recruiting, or developing the talent that he has on the roster?

Matt Parker: Recruiting is the lifeblood of any college program, but when you have misses and you are forced to take guys, if you can develop them into something special, it works out. So with that, I’d say development.

Mick Walker: I guess of the two I would go with on-field coaching at Ohio State.

On-field coaching can make up for subpar recruiting to a greater degree than great recruiting can mask subpar coaching.

From IlliniBuck87: If you had to take a guess at the next three commits in the 2026 class, who would they be?

MP: Max Riley, Elbert Hill or hmmmm, I’ll say Zavion Griffin-Haynes.

MW: Jaeden Ricketts, Aiden Harris and Zavion Griffin-Haynes.

Southern Buckeye: What’s going on with 2026 QB recruiting?

MP: Going to be a lot of junior season evaluations from OSU General Manager Mark Pantoni and his staff. I would also assume the Buckeyes will try to circle back on some guys depending on how the season plays out.

MW: Evaluation. Getting more film and developing relationships for down the line when they do make a move on their guys.
