C.J. Hicks wraps up high school career, ready for Ohio State
Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride. It’s full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. We’re talking with the young players and sometimes, the Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. Today we’re catching up with CJ Hicks for the final time before he heads to Ohio State in January.
The end is in sight for CJ Hicks.
The end of his high school career has happened. A years-long recruiting process that has seen him go from an unknown safety prospect to a Top 10-ranked linebacker will wrap up next.
It’s been a journey that saw Hicks transform his frame into a budding college superstar and his name into one that fans around the country know. Hicks has earned the moniker Captain Buckeye for his efforts as a recruiter for Ohio State, the school he committed to almost 18 months ago.
And soon he’ll pick up another label: Buckeyes linebacker.
CJ Hicks enrolls at Ohio State in January but he’s got some unfinished business in front of him. Hicks and the rest of the Buckeyes 2022 commitments have been working overtime to try and wrap up this recruiting cycle. Ohio State currently has the Big Ten’s top-ranked class according to On3.com but there’s work to be done with only 16 commitments in tow.
