Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride. It’s full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter. We’re talking with the young players and sometimes, the Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. This week we’re talking with Buckeyes 2022 running back verbal Dallan Hayden.

Dallan Hayden was the running back that Tony Alford wanted in the Buckeyes 2022 recruiting class.

When Ohio State was looking for the right fit at the position, Hayden and Alford grew a relationship that ultimately made the difference in his decision. When the 5-foot-11, 195-pound 4-star tailback made his official visit to Columbus in June, the feeling that he was prioritized didn’t change.

“They made me feel like a priority,” Hayden told Lettermen Row. “And my family [felt it], like as soon as we walked in the door.”

Hayden hadn’t been back to Ohio State since that visit before this past weekend. The young tailback finally had the chance to return to his future home as the Buckeyes hosted Penn State under the lights of Ohio Stadium. It was a chance for Hayden to spend time with his future teammates, his future coaches and to get a better sense of the game atmosphere in Columbus.

What did the experience at Ohio State do to help Dallan Hayden feel more at home with the Buckeyes? How has his relationship with Tony Alford changed over the months? What kind of talks has he had about the expectations for an Ohio State freshman? Did Quinn Ewers try and give him kombucha?

The talented Buckeyes commitment returns to Birminology to talk about those things and more.
