Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter with the young football players and Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. Today we’re talking with No. 1-ranked 2024 quarterback Dylan Raiola.

The recruitment of Dylan Raiola is a fun one to watch.

The country’s No. 1-ranked 2024 quarterback prospect is just taking it all in. After moving to Chandler (Ariz.) High School from Burleson (Texas) a few months ago, Raiola is settling in and has been busy setting up key recruiting visits. He’s been to USC, Georgia and Clemson in recent weeks as he dives deeper into his many options. He has more than 25 scholarship offers to his name, including Ohio State.

Ryan Day offered Dylan Raiola last October, when the 6-foot-3, 210-pound Nebraska legacy made his first trip to Columbus. Since then, the Buckeyes have been spending a lot of time building their relationship with him and his family. It was the focus on that relationship which excited Raiola for this past weekend’s return trip to Ohio State. That’s what he told Lettermen Row early in March.

“I’m excited to get there,” he said about the return. “I get to be up-close-and-personal. I get a chance to spend time with coaches in the meetings, practice, and really just hear how these coaches run practice.

“It’ll definitely a more in-depth preview of how they run installation meetings. Coach to player and player to coach.”

That second visit with the Buckeyes is over.

Why was it important to get his mother on campus at Ohio State? What impact did the Buckeyes receivers make on Dylan Raiola? What kind of feedback did he get from Heisman candidate C.J. Stroud about Ryan Day and Corey Dennis as coaches? How long does he see his recruitment going?

The top-ranked quarterback talks about those things and more in the latest edition of Birminology from Lettermen Row.
