ATLANTA — The day has finally arrived, Ohio State fans. The Buckeyes are mere hours away from kicking off against Notre Dame in the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship game.

Ohio State vs Notre Dame: Game time, details

Ohio State and Notre Dame have only squared off eight times with the ninth set coming in the 2025 National Championship on Monday, Jan. 20. The Buckeyes have won the last six wins in the series including wins at home against the Irish to open the 2022 season and in South Bend last season. Notre Dame’s lone wins against Ohio State came in 1935 and 1936. This is the third matchup between Ryan Day and Marcus Freeman.

Notre Dame (14-1) is coming off a College Football Playoff semifinal win over Penn State in the Orange Bowl.
