COLUMBUS – Week 10 of the Ohio high school football season has arrived. Hundreds of teams will begin their pursuit of a OHSAA state championship starting next week.
In the meantime, Lettermen Row has four matchups to watch in week 10 of the Ohio high school football season. Here are the four matchups that Ohio high school football fans should be watching on Friday.
No. 4 Marion Local at No. No. 14 Coldwater
Game preview: Maria Stein (Ohio) Marion Local is pound-for-pound one of the top high school football programs in the state of Ohio. The Flyers have won 57 straight games and are one win away from tying the record for most consecutive wins in Ohio high school football history. Additionally, Marion Local are the odds on favorites to win another OHSAA Division VII state title in December. Across the field is Coldwater (Ohio) Cavilers who are also 9-0 on the season and one of the top contenders for the OHSSA Division VI state title. Marion Local has won three straight against Coldwater and the Massey Ratings predictions another win for the Flyers on Friday.

No. 6 Archbishop Hoban at No. 11 St. Edward
Game preview: The annual matchup between two of the top programs in Ohio. No. 11 Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward has won three straight OHSAA Division I state championships while No. 6 Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban has lost in the OHSAA Division II state title game each of the past three seasons. St. Edward topped Hoban 14-7 in their week 10 matchup last season. This season’s matchup figures to be another close one and Ohio State cornerback target Elbert Hill, the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Rankings, could be the difference for the Knights

Game preview: Another matchup between to historic high school football programs in Ohio. Cincinnati (Ohio) La Salle is 7-2 on the season while Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder is 5-4. Both teams are searching for their first win in Greater Catholic League play this season. The Massey Ratings predict the Panthers to pull out a close win over the Lancers.

Game preview: No. 50 Columbus Grove at Bluffton is another small school Ohio high school football matchup with big stakes. Both teams are 9-0 this season and as a result, a Northwest Conference title will be on the line when the Bulldogs and Pirates take the field on Friday. Columbus Grove has won seven straight against Bluffton including a win in the OHSAA Division VII state playoffs last season. The Massey Ratings predict the Pirates to finally pick off the Bulldogs on Friday, however.
