Four-star PF A'mare Bynum commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS — Ohio State and head coach Jake Diebler have added one of the top post players in the country to their 2025 class.
Four-star Link Academy (Mo.) power forward A’Mare Bynum has committed to Ohio State. Bynum chose the Buckeyes over Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, LSU and several addition high-major offers. The Cornhuskers led on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine throughout most of his recruitment.
Ohio State assistant coach Jamall Walker has been Bynum’s primary recruiter throughout his recruitment. Walker watched Bynum and his MoKan Elite team play multiple times on the Nike EYBL circuit this offseason. He has also watched Bynum several times this fall at Link Academy practices.
The Buckeyes offered Bynum, the No. 83 overall prospect and No. 21 power forward in 2025 On3 top 150, in June. He then took an official visit to Ohio State earlier this month for the Iowa game. He visited with his current high school teammate and four-star combo guard Jerry Easter.
Bynum attends prep school in Missouri but he is a Nebraska native. He played the first three years of his high school career at Bryan High School in Omaha. Bynum averaged 21.1 points and 9.0 rebounds in 25 games as a junior.

Additionally, Bynum plays for MoKan Elite, a Missouri and Kanas based program, on the Nike EYBL circuit. Bynum averaged 11.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 20.2 minutes per game this offseason.
The 6-foot-8 and 210-pound Bynum joins four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Richmond Heights shooting guard Dorian Jones in the Buckeyes 2025 class. Ohio State is still looking to add one more guard prospect to the class, preferably a point guard to pair with Jones and now Bynum.
Ohio State has prioritized landing the top players in-state under Jake Diebler. Landing Bynum is a big out-of-state win for the Buckeyes, however.
