In-state wide receiver Jamier Brown commits to Ohio State
COLUMBUS — The wide receiver talented in the state of Ohio has improved in recent years and Ohio State has reaped the reward. Wide receivers coach Brian Hartline has landed another elite pass catcher from the Buckeye State.
2027 Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne wide receiver Jamier Brown has committed to Ohio State. committed to the Buckeyes over double-digit Power Four programs including Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State and Texas A&M. He is the first commitment for Ohio State in the 2027 class.
Ohio State offered the 6-foot, 170-pound Brown in June following a strong camp performance. He has built a close relationship with Brian Hartline and the rest of the Buckeyes coaching staff.
“We talk a lot. They don’t really just talk to me about football,” Brown told Lettermen Row. “Before they talked to me about football, they checked up on me, my mom, my family, and my girlfriend. That’s really one special thing I like because I don’t want a coach to really just come up to me or call me talking about football every time.

Brown has 63 receptions for 1,035 yards and 13 touchdowns in 14 games this season. He also rushed for 167 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. Additionally, Brown has returned one kickoff for a touchdown this season.
Brown is the fourth in-state commitment for Brain Hartline since being named Ohio State’s wide receivers coach. The Buckeyes signed Jayden Ballard out of Massillon (Ohio) Washington in the 2021 class. Hartline also has three-star Mansfield (Ohio) Ontario standout Bodpegn Miller committed in 2025 and three-star Pataskala (Ohio) Watkins Memorial wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts in 2026.
