Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride. It’s full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter. We’re talking with the young players and, sometimes, the Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. 2024 quarterback Jadyn Davis, the No. 1-ranked overall player in the class, is this week’s guest.

Jadyn Davis was as impressive as a high school quarterback prospect could be when he camped with Ohio State in June. That workout included a one-on-one session with Ryan Day in which the Buckeyes coach put Davis through an extensive set of throws.

Davis stood out to Day during that workout, and ever since then the Catawba Ridge (S.C.) Class of 2024 prospect has continued to rise as the Buckeyes’ top quarterback target in his class.

Davis is the top-ranked quarterback and top-ranked overall player in his recruiting class, and he has no shortage of high-level programs recruiting him hard. Ohio State is at the top of the list for the sophomore, and that is apparent after he visited Columbus for the fourth time since the summer when the Buckeyes hosted Penn State over the weekend.

It was Davis’ second game day visit to Ohio Stadium, as he followed up a visit for the Oregon game – in which he got a rare opportunity to speak with Buckeyes athletic director Gene Smith – by attending the Buckeyes’ other spotlight game so far this season.

This time around, Davis was able to experience more of what Columbus has to offer. He and his parents made the drive up from the Charlotte area on Saturday and stayed until the early afternoon on Sunday.

That visit included taking in another electric game atmosphere, meetings with Day and quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and a quick stop at a High Street staple in Columbus.

How impactful was that talk with Day and Dennis? Where does he stand with the Buckeyes? And was there any discussion of potentially reclassifying to the Class of 2023?

Oh, and what did he think of that restaurant on High Street? And will Buckeyes backers be able to forgive him despite forgetting the restaurant’s name?

Davis answers those questions, evaluates his two game day trips to Ohio State, where he will visit next and more with Lettermen Row’s Zack Carpenter on this episode of Talking Stuff: The Ohio State Recruiting Podcast presented by Byers Auto.
