Late season struggles continue as Buckeyes fall at UCLA

COLUMBUS – The Buckeyes late February struggles continued on Sunday. Ohio State failed to get anything going offensively in loss at UCLA on Bill Walton Day inside Pauley Pavilion.
Final score: UCLA 69, Ohio State 61. The Buckeyes fall to 15-13 on the season and 7-10 in Big Ten Conference play.
Ohio State struggled offensively from start the game to the final whistle. The Buckeyes shot just 31.7% from the field against UCLA including going 6-of-27 from three-point range. UCLA also dominated Ohio State on the glass. They were out-rebounded by the Bruins, 45-34.
Junior guard Bruce Thornton led the Buckeyes with 21 points. He also had four rebounds and three assists in the loss. Senior guard Micah Parrish was the only other Ohio State player in double-digits. Parrish finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Senior guard Ques Glover had seven points and two assists off the bench for the Buckeyes.

UCLA was led by guard Eric Dailey Jr. who finished with 20 points while making three of five three-point attempts. Guard Skyy Clark was the Bruins only other starter in double figures with 13.
The Buckeyes have three regular season games remaining before the Big Ten Tournament. Only one of them is at home, however. Ohio State is back home for the final time against Nebraska on March 4. The other two games being on the road, at USC on Wednesday and at Indiana in the regular season finale on March 8. The Buckeyes likely need to win all three to earn an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament in Jake Diebler’s first season at the helm.
