Lettermen Row: Welcome to Year Two
A full year of coverage is in the books, and Lettermen Row is just getting started.
To everybody that read a story, watched a video, followed a social-media account, listened to a podcast or claimed some Lettermen Row gear, we sincerely appreciate all the support during our first year. And for those just getting on board and everybody sticking with us, we have a lot planned in Year Two and can’t wait to share some new features with you.Â
But first, I would like to highlight some of the successes of Year One.Â
This website wouldn’t exist without the hard work of Austin Ward and Jeremy “Birm†Birmingham. They are the best in the business when it comes to Ohio State reporting and recruiting news.Â
The amount of in-depth coverage and stories first reported by Austin and Birm in one year is truly incredible. Just to name a few: The retirement of Urban Meyer and hiring of Ryan Day, football assistant coach hiring and firings, Justin Fields transferring to Ohio State, behind the scenes at the Best Fridays in Football and so much recruiting news that we should be sponsored by Zip Recruiter.Â
I would also like to point out the extraordinary contributions of our former player Lettermen. In no particular order, Beanie Wells, Zach Boren, Evan Spencer, Reid Fragel, Jake Stoneburner, Terence Dials, Bobby Carpenter, Chimdi Chekwa, Boom Herron, Cardale Jones, Tracy Sprinkle, Antonio Pittman, Troy Smith and many others have been instrumental to our success.Â
We are creating the home of former players, because there is no one else who knows what it’s like behind the scenes of major college sports than the players themselves. We will continue to add to our roster of Lettermen, and their insight is absolutely critical to our mission to supplying the best content when it comes to Ohio State football.Â
Additionally, we’ve tried to innovate and bring content to Ohio State fans that has never been done before. We’ve launched original series that include BuckIQ, Birminology, Lettermen Live, Scarlet Sunrise, Beanie and the Boom Podcast, live press conferences and the Tim May Podcast.
And we’re just getting started.Â
If you haven’t noticed already, the site looks a little different. We worked with the renowned graphic designer, Sam Silverman, to give our brand an update. You will notice a whole new look and feel to our content including a new logo, new colors, and a visual language to tie it all together.
Sam will continue to work with us part-time as Lettermen Row’s Creative Director. You will see more of his work coming this fall. If your business is looking for an ultra-talented freelance graphic designer I can’t recommend him enough. Check out his website here.Â
If you are a regular viewer, you’ve probably noticed the addition of legendary former Columbus Dispatch reporter, Tim May. Tim has been covering Ohio State football for decades and continues to loom as an authority on the program.Â
We are lucky that Tim became a free agent and decided to join us because his reporting, insight and wit are unmatched. If you haven’t already, check out his podcast and articles.Â
One last new new feature: Lettermen Row iPhone and Android apps. We hope to roll this out sometime in September. Stay tuned.Â
