The Buckeyes avenged their regular season loss to the Ducks with a 41-21 win in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State will now face Texas in the CFP semifinal at the Cotton Bowl.

Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel completed a 27-yard touchdown to wide receiver Traeshon Holden to tie the NCAA FBS career touchdown passes record. The Ducks two-point conversion failed, however, and Ohio State still leads 41-21 in the fourth quarter.

After back-to-back touchdown drives by Oregon, the Ohio State defense sacked Dillon Gabriel twice and forced a three-and-out.

The Buckeyes offense then extended their lead over the Ducks. Ohio State went 65 yards in under three minutes. The drive was capped off with an eight yard touchdown run by TreVeyon Henderson to make it 41-15 in favor of the Buckeyes.

The Ducks score first in the second half, cut Buckeyes lead to 34-15

Oregon carried their offensive momentum from late in the first half into the start of the second half. Dillon Gabriel led the Ducks on a 11-play, 75-yard scoring drive which was capped off by a two yard rushing touchdown from running back Noah Whittington.

The Ducks went 75 yards on 10 plays on their final drive of the half to cut the Buckeyes lead to 34-8 at halftime. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel hit tight end Terrance Ferguson for the touchdown then found wide receiver Justius Lowe for the two-point conversion.

The Buckeyes drove the ball down to the Oregon 18-yard line but were unable to put the ball in the end-zone again. Kicker Jayden Fielding knocked through a 36-yard field goal to give Ohio State a 34-0 lead over the Ducks.
