Buckeyes land four-star shooting guard Malaki Branham
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is keeping the top-ranked basketball player in the state home: Malaki Branham is committed to the Buckeyes.
The four-star shooting guard from St. Vincent-St. Mary’s announced his pick on Wednesday afternoon, giving Chris Holtmann another signature recruiting win as he continues to build his program and attract top-flight talent. Branham, a proven scorer who has also shown a willingness to rebound with his 6-foot-4 frame, beefs up a class that was already ranked No. 13 in the country with two players pledged to the Buckeyes.
The addition of Branham rockets Ohio State up to No. 2 in the nation and the top spot in the Big Ten.

Branham could have waited until after the shutdown to make his choice. But having already visited campus in Columbus several times before, he chose instead to go ahead and become the third member of the 2021 recruiting class for Holtmann.
