Nick Bosa timetable
Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa won’t be back for the Penn State matchup, nor for several games after that one. His father John Bosa told the Columbus Dispatch on Monday that it will likely be November before Bosa is healthy enough to play again.
“Here’s the reality of what’s going on: Nick won’t be evaluated by the surgeon until November,†John Bosa told the Dispatch. “The bad news is, he had surgery. The good news is, it’s 100 percent fixable. And that is fantastic for Nick, because once he recovers he will be 100 percent. … The reality is Nick won’t be evaluated by the surgeon until November, and to speculate past that timeframe really would not be helpful for anyone.â€
Bosa is expected to be a top-5 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, which further complicates his return. Sitting out would protect his draft stock, but Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said Monday that he expects Bosa to suit up again.
“We’ve already had those conversations [about handling him] a little bit, but that’s down the road when he becomes healthy again,†Meyer said. “You can’t ask for a better family and people, and I don’t want to paraphrase John and Cheryl Bosa, but as they said: ‘We trust our children to this program, and we will continue to do so.’”
Urban Meyer speaks
Urban Meyer touched on a number of topics in his Monday press conference, talking about Nick Bosa as well as Dwayne Haskins’ hot start and why Penn State is such a tough environment to play in.

Brian Snead still out
Freshman running back Brian Snead has missed each of the last two games for previously undisclosed reasons, but Meyer shed a tiny bit of light on the situation on Monday.
“Violation of team rules that we’re monitoring,” adding that he doesn’t yet know if Snead will make the trip to Penn State.
