On3 Massey Ratings Top 25 in Ohio ahead of Round One Playoff Action
COLUMBUS — Ohio is regarded as one of the gem states when it comes to high school football. The Buckeye State year in and year out produces plenty of college talent from FBS all the way to Division III.
This is the first week of the playoffs and Lettermen Row runs through the On3 Massey Ratings of the top 25 teams in the state.
No. 1 Archbishop Moeller (9-1)
The No. 1 team in Ohio lies in the Queen City of Cincinnati and Archbishop Moeller rolled through its schedule. But the Crusaders now have to roll through their playoff schedule. It starts Friday with a home game against Sycamore.
No. 2 Marion Local (10-0)
Marion Local continued its winning ways with a victory over rival Coldwater. The Flyers host Fort Recovery in the first round of the playoffs on Friday.
No. 3 Akron Archbishop Hoban (8-2)
Akron Hoban edged past St. Edward last Friday and heads back to the playoffs, looking to get back to the state title and finally win it. The Knights host Firestone on Friday.
No. 4 Walsh Jesuit (10-0)
Walsh Jesuit completed its regular season without a blemish. The Warriors host (Willoughby) South on Friday in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 5 Avon (10-0)
Avon completed its regular season without a blemish. The Eagles host North Olmstead on Friday in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 6 Massillon Washington (8-2)
Massillon Washington are the reigning Division II champs and have played a national schedule this fall. It’s time to play an all-Ohio schedule, however. The Tigers host Licking Heights in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 7 Anderson (10-0)
Anderson heads into the playoffs undefeated. The Raptors host Edgewood on Friday.
No. 8 Lakota West (9-1)
The Firebirds of Lakota West are year in and year out one of the premier programs in the state. It is playoff time and Lakota West hosts Walnut Hills on Friday.
2026 ATH Cam Thomas plays for the Firebirds and the program also produced Ohio State sophomore safety Malik Hartford.
No. 9 St. Xavier (7-3)
St. Xavier, led by quarterback Chase Herbstreit, the son of Kirk Herbstreit, dominated in a 62-0 win last week. The Bombers host Milford in a first-round playoff game on Friday.
No. 10 Toledo Central Catholic (9-1)
The reigning Division III state champs head back to the playoffs and they are riding a seven-game win streak. The Irish host Lutheran West on Friday.
No. 11 Bishop Watterson (10-0)
Columbus Bishop Watterson made it all the way to the Division III state title game last season and wound up losing. The Eagles, who graduated over 20 seniors, haven’t gone anywhere. They host Warren on Friday in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 12 St. Edward (5-5)
St. Edward has been the best team in Division I for the last three years, winning the state championship in three consecutive seasons. But that hasn’t been the case this season. The Eagles host Findlay on Friday for a first-round playoff game.
No. 13 Medina Highland (10-0)
Highland handled its business against Aurora last Friday. The Hornets host Fremont Ross in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 14 Mentor (10-0)
Mentor concluded its undefeated regular season last Friday with a 51-14 win over Euclid. The Cardinals host St. Ignatius on Friday for the first round of the playoffs.

No. 15 Winton Woods (9-1)
Winton Woods scored 28 unanswered last Friday to win its ninth game of the year. The Warriors host Little Miami in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 16 La Salle (8-2)
La Salle continues to find ways to win ball games. The Lancers beat Elder 35-24 in overtime and now host Monroe in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 17 Ursuline (9-1)
All of the talk about high school football in Northeast Ohio usually goes toward the Cleveland area, but don’t sleep on Youngstown either. Ursuline is an elite program and hosts Chaney in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 18 Wapakoneta (10-0)
Wapakoneta captured its coveted undefeated season with a tight 21-17 win over Celina. The Redskins host Franklin in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 19 Princeton (8-2)
Princeton capped off its regular season with a 41-3 drubbing against Colerain. The Vikings host Fairfield in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 20 Ironton (9-1)
Ironton capped off its regular season with a dominant 50-0 win at Portsmouth. The Fighting Tigers host Worthington Christian in the first round of the playoffs on Friday.
No. 21 Anthony Wayne (10-0)
Anthony Wayne finished its regular season without a blemish to its record. The Generals host Rhodes on Friday in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 22 Olentangy Liberty (8-2)
Thanks to a win over No. 23 Olentangy Orange last week, Olentangy Liberty finds itself in the top 25 and in a home playoff game. The Patriots host Lancaster on Friday.
No. 23 London (10-0)
The London Red Raiders make their first appearance in the Massey Sports Top-25 rankings. After an undefeated regular season, the Red Raiders host Ross in the first round of the playoffs.
No. 24 Coldwater (9-1)
Coldwater lost its first game of the 2024 season in Week 10 — a 35-0 drubbing against Marion Local. The Cavaliers look to get back in the win column on Friday with their first-round playoff game against Covington.
No. 25 Pickerington North (8-2)
One of the powerhouse programs of Central Ohio, Pickerington North, heads into the first round of the playoffs with a tough conference loss at Gahanna. The Panthers host Westerville North on Friday.
